Activities

Harbor Hills offers so many different and awesome activities with one common ingredient: FUN!
No matter your interests, we have something for everyone!
Our team of dedicated and caring staff are experts in their fields. Whether campers are trying the pottery wheel for the first time, learning a new swim stroke, or hoisting the Harbor Cup after the Sports League Championship, rest assured there will be a big smile on their faces while they learn new skills every step of the way!

SPORTS

Sports is an integral part of the Harbor Hills experience. Nothing encourages confidence, teamwork, and fitness quite like athletics.

Regardless of age, size, and skill level, all our campers enjoy sports at Harbor Hills.

Led by Specialists, we introduce a wide variety of sports using scaled-down fields, age-appropriate equipment, and kid-friendly rules all with the end goal of giving campers a lifelong love of sports.

Campers entering 3rd grade and up have an opportunity to join a team and compete in our Sports League. Teams square off in various sports including baseball, basketball, flag football, hockey, lacrosse, and soccer. Each morning, campers gather around the leaderboard to see who’s in 1st place. When it comes time for the playoffs, the excitement level jumps as teams vie for the Harbor Cup and championship rings!

SWIM

At Harbor Hills, we understand our role in the importance of learning to swim. Not only is swimming a fun activity, but it is also an important life skill and a matter of safety. Harbor Hills campers get to enjoy our four age-appropriate, heated swimming pools twice each day, once for instruction and once for fun! Our experienced swim staff follow the American Red Cross “Learn to Swim” program.

All of our lifeguards are certified as ARC Water Safety Instructors which is the gold standard of swim instruction.

With our experienced swim staff and kid-friendly approach, it is no wonder Harbor Hills campers finish each summer as stronger, more confident swimmers.

Arts & Wonder

Another part of what makes Harbor Hills such a valuable experience for our campers is its exploration into the world of Arts and Wonder.

Campers of all ages can express their creative selves by releasing the artist and scientist within.

Our Crafts, Ceramics, Jewelry, Cooking, Theater, and Dance programs allow our campers to enhance their creativity through the use of a wide variety of mediums.

In addition, our campers get a true hands-on experience at Wonderworks where they are challenged to discover, Robotics where they are introduced to coding, and Rocketry where they are taught to dream. At Harbor Hills we make science fun!

ADVENTURE

Part of the Harbor Hills commitment to children is to provide an environment to help them grow and succeed.

Our Outdoor Adventure program gives campers the opportunity to confidently challenge themselves and push beyond their boundaries.

Whether they’re navigating their way through our ropes course, speeding down the zipline, taking aim at an archery target, handling the curves on our go-kart track, or jumping for the sky on the bungee trampolines, our highly qualified staff know how to encourage children and enjoy sharing in their victories.

Campers of all ages also get to participate in Pioneering, a program where they explore and experience the outdoors. Campers are encouraged to get their hands dirty while learning to set up a tent, search for animal tracks, and plant a garden. Of course, no Adventure program is complete without building a campfire and enjoying some s’mores!

BOATING & FISHING

At Harbor Hills, we fill each camper’s day with fun, excitement, and experiences that are meant to last a lifetime. And while we are often on the go, we also recognize the importance of just kicking back and reflecting. Our Boating and Fishing program is very popular among our campers entering 2nd grade and above. Campers can choose to head to the lake with a fishing pole and some bait to see what they can catch.

Nothing beats the look of amazement and accomplishment on a camper’s face after patiently waiting and then getting to reel one in!

Supervised by our Specialists, our campers also have the opportunity to put down their fishing poles and relax as they paddle their way around the lake. Our Boating and Fishing program gives our campers yet another opportunity to gain a lifelong love of the outdoors.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Horseback riding is an experience unique to Harbor Hills.

Our campers can saddle up and learn to ride as they experience the exhilarating bond between rider and horse.

Entering 2nd grade and up, campers can elect to be part of our optional English style Horseback Riding program. Campers receive weekly lessons from trained and knowledgeable instructors at a nearby stables. They are introduced to correct position-based riding while learning to give commands and direct their horse. Expert instructors guide our campers through the different gaits, allowing each camper to progress at their own pace in a warm and supportive environment. You don’t need to send a thing – we take care of everything from the boots to the helmets (and the horses too)!

CREATIVE PLAY

Go play! At Harbor Hills, we believe that most children’s days are becoming increasingly structured. Children do not have enough time to just be kids. That’s why creative play is an essential part of the program for our campers.

Harbor Hills campers get to crawl, climb, build, dig, slide, run, and jump through our play areas and let their imaginations take over.

Each of our play areas are specifically designed to encourage campers to interact with their peers as they develop and enhance their social skills. Our campers use their imaginations to create games, make choices, make friends, and just be kids!

SPECIAL EVENTS

Harbor Hills is proud to have the best programs and activities, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for a little something extra!

Summer is too short, and we know how important it is to squeeze every ounce of fun into it!

Every Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday when campers and staff are invited to show their Harbor Hills spirit and dress up in the theme of the week. In addition, we have a variety of camp-wide special event days such as Water Day, Carnival Day, and Olympics. Each week brings something new and exciting!
